For Resting Calligraphy Brushes

Brush stands and brush caps are used when you want to rest your brush without washing it, or when you want to prevent the ink from hardening.
Once a brush is washed, the moisture in the bristles increases, and this can also affect how the ink bleeds on paper, which you may want to avoid.
Using a brush cap helps to slow down the drying of the ink.

The drawback is that it requires extra effort to clean, and if left unattended, the base of the brush may rot, causing shedding and damage to the brush. Therefore, it is not really a recommended item.
If used for storage, the brush must be completely dry before placing it in the cap.
