Choose a Mat to Match Your Work

The full sheet (Zenshi) is the most basic size and is another name for Shishaku gasen (four-shaku paper).
It is also called "Shōgasen" or "Yonshaku-mono".

"Ren-ochi" refers to a sheet cut to 3/4 of a full sheet (approx. 53×136 cm).
When writing on full sheets or Ren-ochi paper, use a full-sheet mat (90×150 cm), which is also compatible with Ren-ochi.

Felt and Lasha Types

Each of the two materials has its own characteristics.
Choose according to your preferred thickness and texture.
Felt mats, known for their luxury and volume, are made by compressing animal hair and are characterized by softness and excellent water repellency.
Lasha mats are more affordable than felt, with fabric that is durable and resistant to wrinkles, making them convenient for folding, carrying, and washing.
