Collection: Ink Reservoir (Bokuchi)
Containers for Pouring Ink Directly
Save Time from Grinding Ink
When you want to practice a lot, create large works with a big ink pool, or write the first calligraphy of the year, an ink pool is recommended.
Unlike an inkstone used for grinding ink, an ink pool is a convenient tool that allows you to start writing right away just by pouring in liquid ink.
It is ideal when you cannot properly load ink into the pool with an inkstone, or when you want to save time on grinding and prioritize writing.
It can also be used not only for calligraphy but also for watercolor painting and ink painting.
If it comes with a lid, you can safely move it around while writing without worrying about liquid leakage.
Pour plenty of ink into the container and soak the brush thoroughly.
Excess ink can be brushed off by touching the tip of the brush against the raised part in the center.
Please note that ink pools are only for using liquid ink and cannot be used for grinding ink.
Easy to Carry and Available in Many Types
Plastic ink pools are much lighter than inkstones, making them very convenient to carry.
Ceramic types have an elegant and luxurious appearance.
We also offer copper types that make the ink less likely to oxidize.
The look and usability differ depending on the material, so please choose the one that best suits your preference.
*For quality reasons, we do not recommend returning ink once poured into the pool back into its original container.
Please be mindful of this when using an ink pool.
