Collection: Kneaded Sumi Ink (Nerizumi)

Highly Concentrated Ink Paste Diluted Little by Little

“Grind the ink until it becomes ultra-thick, then dilute it for use” — this method has long been considered the standard for achieving the best ink color.
Ink paste is produced in an extremely concentrated, jelly-like form and is designed to be diluted anywhere from about 2 to 40 times before use.

It is important to dilute the ink gradually rather than all at once.
If you add a large amount of ink paste and dilute it with water in one go, the mixture will not blend evenly, which may cause blurring or unevenness when the artwork is mounted. Please take care when preparing your ink.

Varied Expressions in Black and Blue

We offer a wide range of concentrated ink pastes, from calm matte black and deep jet black to bright blue and subdued blue tones—each allowing for different artistic expressions.
Some types dry quickly and resist solidifying even in winter, making them convenient for year-round use. Please choose the ink paste that best suits your style and working conditions.
