Collection: Chinese Calligraphy Brush (Karafude / Chinese Fude)
High-Quality, Affordable Original Karafude Brushes
“Karafude” refers to calligraphy brushes made in China.
While there are many well-known brands such as Shanghai Gongyi, Jindingpai, Daiyuexuan, and Suzhou Hubi, Shoyu Online carefully supervises production at trusted Chinese factories to offer reliable, high-quality brushes.
By developing our own original brushes, we reduce unnecessary costs and provide safe, well-crafted products at accessible prices.
Alongside our original brand “Kinchopai,” developed as a high-quality alternative to Jindingpai, we also offer a wide selection including “Shukan Fude.”
We invite you to experience Shoyu Online’s original Karafude brushes.
Introduction to Karafude Brushes
■ Senkōenken
The tip is made of black rabbit hair, surrounded by goat hair.
One of the most well-known Karafude brushes, suitable for addressing, sutra copying, certificate writing, and even kana due to its sharp, clean lines.
■ Daishichi Shisanyō
“Shishi” refers to rabbit hair; this brush consists of 70% rabbit hair and 30% goat hair.
With a thicker body than Shichisanyō, it is recommended for certificate writing and address work.
■ Shakan
The tip is white rabbit hair, surrounded by goat hair.
Its responsive and easy-to-control tip makes it ideal for beginners.
Widely used at temples for sutra-copying gatherings, it offers a softer, more adhesive feel than the Soryō Shakan.
■ Soryō Shakan
The tip is black rabbit hair, surrounded by goat hair.
Slightly larger than the Shakan, it provides stronger resilience and a sharper writing feel.
■ Kahitsu Shunsanshoku Yōsei
The tip is white rabbit hair, surrounded by goat hair, and slightly larger than the Shakan.
Commonly used for address writing.
■ Kanpeki
A small brush made entirely of goat hair.
All-goat-hair brushes are rare and highly recommended for creating soft characters or delicate small works.
