Paulownia Boxes Ideal for Long-Term Preservation
Paulownia boxes are highly valued for preserving calligraphy works and hanging scrolls.
Their key characteristics include being lightweight, fire-resistant, resistant to changes in humidity, and naturally insect-repellent.
By storing hanging scrolls in a paulownia box, you can help protect important works in stable condition over many years.
Proper Storage and Care for Hanging Scrolls
When storing a hanging scroll, choose a day with low humidity.
Before placing it in the paulownia box, gently remove dust from the surface using a soft brush.
After storage, it is recommended to air out the scroll at least once every six months.
To reduce curling, hang the scroll for approximately three days during airing.
Adding insect-repelling incense designed specifically for mounting further enhances protection against insect damage
and helps maintain a safe storage environment inside the box.
