Text Series: Han-Dynasty Clerical Script 6 – Yang Huai “Biaoji” (Hyakunō Edition)

The characteristics of this monument are, first, its natural variations unconstrained by form, and second, its unadorned simplicity and somewhat old-fashioned elegance. Because it is located quite high up, the lines are written with space between them, like a flag, to make the upper characters appear slightly larger. Conversely, the overall view shows that the lower characters are written a little narrower. Learning about this rock-carved monument at a leisurely pace is also one of its pleasures.
