Trial Pack: Shin Sakura (Extra Thick) Hanshi
Trial Pack: Shin Sakura (Extra Thick) Hanshi
Starting with the Basics of Stops, Splices, and Strokes
Machine-made Kanji paper for school children.
Due to its high pulp content, the paper is particularly white, making it ideal for school practice.
It features minimal bleeding and some ink penetration.
Paper thicknesses are classified as "normal thickness," "heavy weight," and "extra thick." Extra thick paper is characterized by its slight ink penetration and moderate brush resistance.
It is widely used for practice in classes and calligraphy schools.
Differences in Expression Depending on Thickness
Normal thickness paper allows the ink to spread horizontally more easily, requiring less ink, allowing for lighter brush strokes.
It is also more prone to bleeding than thick paper.
If you want to avoid bleeding, choose thicker paper.
To minimize bleeding, you can increase the ink concentration when writing.
Thick paper allows the ink to penetrate deeper into the paper, resulting in less bleeding and a more profound sense of ink color.
It requires a large amount of ink, and because it has less bleeding, it's easy to create rubbing effects.
If you don't want rubbing, it's better to choose the standard thickness.
Sakura Hanshi comes in three thicknesses: standard, heavy, and extra heavy. We encourage you to try out and compare the merits of each.
