Kaikokuni Aged Ink 200ml

This ink stick is made using a special process to aggregate ink particles, eliminating the odor of decay. When used as thick ink, it exhibits the distinctive bleed of ink sticks.
When used as thin ink sticks, this product alone or mixed with other ink sticks creates a strong baseline, allowing for powerful expression.
Depending on the temperature, it can be used as ink sticks for about a year unopened, or as an additive to preserve the baseline for about three years.

What is Shukuboku?
When solid ink sticks are ground up and left for several weeks or more, the ink particles aggregate, resulting in a distinctive bleed. This occurs due to the hydrolysis of the glue and the growth of bacteria, which can form nuclei for aggregation.
This inkstone is generally considered difficult to use, as it takes several weeks or even months to make, develops a strong putrid smell, and has a short usable period.
