SHAKYOYO HUDE
Sutra Copying Brushes Designed for Long, Continuous Writing
Sutra copying requires writing characters continuously with steady concentration.
For this practice, it is important to choose a brush that minimizes hand fatigue, features a short and responsive tip, and allows smooth control of both thick and thin lines.
Traditionally, sutra copying brushes are often made in the form known as “Jakutō Fude” (Sparrow-Head Brush), characterized by an extremely short tip and a fuller base.
Its rounded shape resembles a sparrow’s head, which is the origin of its name.
