#Calligraphy Paper / #Calligraphy Paper for Chinese Characters / #Hanshi (Half-Sheet Paper for Chinese Characters) / #Handmade / #Imported / #Taishan-sen Paper / #Medium Thickness / #Suitable for Chinese Character Works / #Sold Individually / #Taiwanese Gasen Paper / #Bleeding: ★★★☆☆ / #Thickness: ■□□□□

Handmade Gasen Paper suitable for general Chinese characters.
Features moderate bleeding and the ability to express "powerful black."
Suitable for final drafts and creative work, it can also be used for public exhibitions.
A distinctive feature is the inclusion of chalk powder in the raw materials.
This high-quality paper has a soft texture and beautiful white color, and when inked, produces a clear black.
The soft paper provides a smooth writing experience.

When you first fill the paper with ink, it will bleed, but the bleeding will stop after a certain point, preventing it from spreading too much.
Thick ink allows for a rubbing effect, and by increasing the amount of water, you can create a smeared effect.
It has a smooth brush stroke and minimal bleeding, making it ideal for thick ink rather than light ink.
This paper has been a popular, long-selling product since its release. It is ideal for final drafts and creative work, and can also be used for public exhibitions.
Another feature is its excellent ink penetration yet minimal bleeding.
We offer a wide range of paper thicknesses (regular, medium, and heavy) and sizes, from half-sheet to exhibition-ready.
*Gofun: Made from ground shells. Thick shells such as oysters and clams are highly prized because they are easy to grind into powder, but other shells are also widely used.

Differences in Expression Depending on Thickness

Normal-thick paper allows the ink to spread easily horizontally, requiring less ink, allowing for lighter brush strokes.
It is also more prone to bleeding than thick paper.
If you want to avoid bleeding, choose thicker paper.
To minimize bleeding, you can increase the ink concentration.

Thick paper allows the ink to penetrate deeper into the paper, resulting in less bleeding horizontally and a sense of depth in the ink color.
Thick paper requires more ink, and because it causes less bleeding, it is easier to create rubbing effects.
If you want to avoid rubbing, choose normal-thick paper.

Taizansen paper comes in three thicknesses: regular, medium, and thick. We encourage you to try them out and compare the benefits of each.
