Paper Thickness Varies in Ink Expression
The writing feel varies slightly depending on the thickness of the paper.
The thicker the paper, the deeper the ink penetrates into the paper. This creates depth in the ink color and makes it easier to express strength.
On the other hand, because it absorbs ink well, brush strokes become heavier when writing.
A larger amount of ink is required, and at the same time, the ink tends to smudge more easily.
Thinner paper allows the ink to reach the back of the paper more easily, making it easier to create a sharp look.
Also, since it absorbs ink less than thicker paper, the brush movements become lighter when writing.
Cotton-style paper is made by scooping the paper twice.
It is about as thick as two sheets of standard paper stacked together.
