Taiwan-style Gasen Gyokuzan 53×175cm
Taiwan-style Gasen Gyokuzan 53×175cm
Handmade painting paper suitable for general Chinese characters. This Taiwanese-style painting paper features a soft, fluffy texture. The white paper is blended with gofun, providing excellent brush grip, making it easy to write on even for beginners. The paper is white, and writing with thick ink makes the black stand out even more, ensuring your work stands out. With just the right amount of bleeding and smudges, this handmade gashi paper is perfect for practice or for taking your practice to the next level. The paper is available in two thicknesses: "normal" and "heavy." The "normal" thickness is ideal for dynamic styles like cursive and semi-cursive writing, making it an easy choice for beginners. As the #1 best-selling gashi paper since its release, it offers consistent quality and is reliable. We offer a wide range of sizes, from half-size paper to those suitable for public exhibitions.
Differences in Expression Depending on Thickness
Normal-thick paper allows ink to spread more easily, requiring less ink, allowing for more agile brushstrokes.
It is also more prone to bleeding than thicker paper.
If you want to avoid bleeding, choose thicker paper.
If you want to minimize bleeding, you can try increasing the ink density.
Thick paper allows the ink to penetrate deeper into the paper, resulting in less horizontal bleeding and a sense of depth in the ink color.
Thick paper requires a larger amount of ink, and because it produces less bleeding, it's easier to create rubbing effects.
If you don't want rubbing, it's best to choose standard thickness.
We recommend trying out standard and thick paper to compare the advantages of each.
