"Nakatsuka Collection" Old Calligraphy Copy

"Nakatsuka Collection" is a manuscript of the family collection of Nakatsuka, a female court poet from the mid-10th century. It is a Japanese-bound booklet of 226 poems.
The paper is mulberry paper, and two pages feature outlines of bushes and wooden boards. The bold character shapes, thin yet powerful brushstrokes, and flowing, linear, continuous kana calligraphy are considered a masterpiece from the late Heian period.
