Video of Inking a Taiwanese Style Painting Paper Yushan Half Sheet

*The ink used in this video is Rin Ink (standard ink), and the brush is a Shuhitsudo Kochiku.

Handmade gashi paper suitable for general Chinese characters. This Taiwanese-style gashi paper features a soft, fluffy texture.
The raw material contains gofun, which provides a good grip for the brush, making it easy to write with, even for beginners.
This white paper makes writing with thick ink even more striking, making your artwork stand out.
Its moderate bleeding and smudges make it perfect for practice or for stepping up to more advanced creative work.
The paper is available in two thicknesses: "normal" and "heavy." The "normal" thickness is ideal for dynamic styles like cursive and semi-cursive writing, making it an easy handmade paper for beginners.
As the #1 best-selling paper since its release, you can rest assured that it's reliable and of high quality.
We offer a wide range of sizes, from half-size paper to those suitable for public exhibitions.

Differences in Expression Depending on Thickness

Normal-thick paper allows ink to spread more easily horizontally, requiring less ink, allowing for lighter brushstrokes.
It is also more prone to bleeding than thicker paper.
If you don't want bleeding, it's best to choose thicker paper.
If you want to minimize bleeding, you can also increase the ink concentration when writing.

With thicker paper, the ink penetrates deeper into the paper, resulting in less bleeding spreading horizontally and a sense of depth in the ink color.
Thicker paper requires more ink, and because there's less bleeding, it's easier to create a sense of rubbing.
If you don't want rubbing, it's best to choose standard-weight paper.

We recommend that you try out standard-weight and heavy-weight paper to compare their respective advantages.
