High-quality paper that resists bleeding and is safe to use
Among machine-made paper, Shodo Ichiban has virtually no bleeding, even when you stop using the brush.
It is a safe practice paper for those who want to write slowly while looking at a model.
At a low price of 2.3 yen per sheet, it is high-quality paper and is a favorite of many.
Differences in Expression Depending on Thickness
Normal-thick paper allows the ink to spread easily horizontally, requiring less ink, allowing for lighter brush strokes.
It is also more prone to bleeding than thicker paper.
If you want to avoid bleeding, choose thicker paper.
If you want to minimize bleeding, you can try increasing the ink density.
Thick paper allows the ink to penetrate deeper into the paper, resulting in less horizontal bleeding and a sense of depth in the ink color.
Thick paper requires more ink, and because it produces less bleeding, it's easier to create a sense of rubbing.
If you don't want rubbing, it's best to choose the standard thickness.
We recommend trying out the standard and extra-thick paper to compare their respective advantages.
