Matsushima-sen Hansetsu (Shoyu Matsushimadō)

This machine-made gashi paper is perfect for general use, students, and schoolchildren to write kanji. It's not particularly thick for a machine-made gashi paper, and its white color is a distinctive feature. The surface is smooth, yet the brush feels good and allows for smooth, dry strokes.
It has slightly more bleeding than Matsushima Hanshi paper. The ink penetrates all the way to the back of the paper, allowing for a clear, vibrant ink color. This is a popular practice product. Available in half-sheet and full-sheet sizes.
