Student Hakuho Inking Video on Hanshi Paper

*The ink used in this video is Rin Ink (normal ink), and the brush used is a Shuhitsudo Kochiku brush.

Washi Paper Ideal for Practice, Expanding the Range of Expression

This machine-made hanshi paper from Tottori Prefecture features a crisp texture.
Although the name includes the word "student" in it, this paper is ideal for practice and is recommended for calligraphy beginners.

Paper that ages with age

Machine-made calligraphy paper for school children. Suitable for a wide range of uses, from practice for school children to final drafts (entering calligraphy competitions).
The paper has minimal smudges and provides just the right amount of resistance to the brush, making it easy to write on.
This high-quality calligraphy paper for school children is also suitable for general practice.
This product is made using advanced techniques that prevent smudges by carefully selecting and fine-tuning raw materials, without the use of any anti-smudge chemicals, resulting in a paper with a natural texture.
In addition, since it is not treated with an anti-smudge treatment, it is also suitable for storage (aging). The paper will age and improve in quality over the course of three, six, or even more months after purchase.
Purchase with confidence.

Differences in Expression Depending on Thickness

Normal-thick paper allows the ink to spread easily and requires less ink, allowing for lighter brush strokes.
It is also more prone to bleeding than thick paper.
If you want to avoid bleeding, choose thicker paper.
To minimize bleeding, you can increase the ink concentration.

Thick paper allows the ink to penetrate deeper into the paper, resulting in less bleeding and a sense of depth in the ink color.
Thick paper requires more ink, and because it causes less bleeding, it is easier to create rubbing effects.
If you want to avoid rubbing, choose normal-thick paper.

We recommend that you try out normal-thick and extra-thick paper to compare their respective advantages.
