Washi Paper Ideal for Practice, Expanding the Range of Expression

This machine-made calligraphy paper from Tottori Prefecture features a crisp texture.
Although the name includes "student" in the name, this paper is ideal for practice and is recommended for beginner calligraphy students.

Paper that ages with age

Machine-made calligraphy paper suitable for school children. Compared to the "normal thick" paper, this paper is thicker and the ink penetrates firmly, resulting in a three-dimensional finish to your work.
It can be used for a wide range of purposes, from practice for school children to final copies (entering calligraphy competitions).
The paper has minimal bleeding, providing just the right amount of resistance to the brush and making it easy to write on.
This high-quality paper is suitable for school children and can also be used for practice by the general public.
This product is made using advanced techniques that prevent bleeding by carefully selecting and fine-tuning raw materials without using any anti-bleeding chemicals, resulting in a paper with a natural texture.
In addition, because it is not treated with a bleeding prevention process, it is also suitable for storage (aging). By aging the paper for three to six months after purchase, the paper will wither and improve in quality.
Purchase with confidence.

Differences in Expression Depending on Thickness

Normal-thick paper allows the ink to spread easily and requires less ink, allowing for lighter brush strokes.
It is also more prone to bleeding than thick paper.
If you want to avoid bleeding, choose thicker paper.
To minimize bleeding, you can increase the ink concentration.

Thick paper allows the ink to penetrate deeper into the paper, resulting in less bleeding and a sense of depth in the ink color.
Thick paper requires more ink, and because it causes less bleeding, it is easier to create rubbing effects.
If you want to avoid rubbing, choose normal-thick paper.

We encourage you to try out the regular and extra-thick paper and compare the benefits of each.
